Her predilection for the high life - fine dining, a good Cabernet, designer clothing, modern art, young women - was her secret vice. Yet she was discrete, Americans did not like their politicians to be too avant-garde. So she acquired a taste for men - rich, well-educated politicians - available, yet unobtainable, was her preference. Another predilection, her fund raising virtuosity, led to a coveted appointment and the platform from which to push her agenda. Then a rich, well-educated bachelor fell in love with her, the platform gave away, her world fell apart. All due to her predilection for pushing her Constituency of One. ~~ |
